Traxstech

Just finished installing my new Traxstech system onboard the Salt Patrol North River.

This is the finest rod holder, downrigger mounting and accessory mounting system of its type that I have ever seen on the marine market.

The foundation of the system is the anodized aluminum track. It comes in lengths from 6 inches to 72 inches and is an extremely high quality aluminum product. All of the Traxstech mounts and accessories mount within the track and can be easily moved to where you want them and locked in place with star thumb screws. If you don’t want a rod holder or downrigger onboard just remove it by sliding it off the track.

The Traxstech adjustable rod holders are some of the best I have ever seen, they are all made of aircraft aluminum and have 5 locking positions and 45 degrees of side to side movement in the track and even come with a rod keeper to hold your rod in place during transport or while fishing steep angles.

The Traxstech systems can accommodate any Scotty Downrigger on its mount or any other brand of downriggers.

Here’s how I set my Traxstech fishing system up. Since I had downrigger brackets welded on my North River O/S already I added tracks to accommodate more rod holders for salmon and tuna fishing and a few other great Traxstech accessories.

First I mounted the tracks, the long ones on the port and starboard sides and 2 short lengths of track in the back of the boat.  Make sure you measure a few times and play with the rod holders for positioning before drilling to ensure you have them where you can get maximum movement for adjustment before drilling holes. All the tracks come with stainless mounting hardware.

Since I have an aluminum boat I just tapped the holes and screwed in the tracks, use cutting oil and a little silicone sealer to get a water tight fit when you insert the screw in the track.

Once the holes were drilled and the mounting screws tightened up it was just a matter of positioning the rod holders where I wanted them. I added a couple of rod holders on each side and a downrigger ball holder next to each Scotty.

On the back of my boat I added a couple more rod holders and Traxstech Tool and Beverage Holder

Picture is my Traxstech system installed and ready for some serious hardcore NW fishing. This system offers me complete versatility for salmon, halibut and offshore tuna fishing on my boat allowing me to move my rods to where they need to be for each fishery.

Traxstech carries a complete line of products to fit just about every mounting option on any boat.

For more information visit Traxstech online for a complete list of products, they have a great web page that allows you to build and price a system for your boat to meet your fishing needs.
