Special Hunt Permits:
It is that time again to be putting in for your Special Hunt Permits. So what is Mike thinking while he is sitting on this hill side on day three of the Quality Bull elk season of 2010? I will tell you with zero points it took to draw this permit maybe next year I will get lucky again. To that I say No way. Mike was very lucky to draw that Dayton Unit tag. It just goes to show you that anyone can draw any tag. It does help to have points. So what should you do? First download the work sheet from the WDFW web site. Provided at the bottom of this blog. Then mark out everything you are not interested in. Then go through the different hunt in the new regs and figure out which hunts you are interested in. I now fill in the hunt numbers on the work sheet and put it away for a day and think about my hunt choices. By the way this drives me nuts. Once you know what you are doing there again the WDFW web site is easy to use so I apply on line.
Now if you have hunting partners you need to have one person be the hunt leader and then everyone else can sign up after he enters the hunt choices.
But what is Mike really thinking? That on the second day we got really close to a nice bull and he was out of position and had his gun on his shoulder, so no shot. I like to think that is surprised the that the Big Hairy One can still make it up and down the hills and is not to bad at bulging elk.
Remember plan early to Have a better chance out in the field or as we said in the Navy remember the 5 “P’s” ………”Prior Planning Prevents Piss Poor Performance”
