Well I said for years; I would never switch over from stainless downrigger wire to braid because the inherent line dag issue (blow back). But you know what they say about never say never! Now with my fishing buddy Mark Abetz pushing me to do so as he has been using it for several years and loves it I finally made the change and just installed 400 yards of the new low drag Scotty braid on all 3 of the electric Scotty’s onboard Salt Patrol.

Scotty now has introducing there new low drag braided line that is rated at 175lbs which eliminates my last concern which was the blow back issue with earlier products. Don’t get wrong the old line was great tie a knot and you’re fishing no crimps to deal with. The all new low stretch braided line will not kink, fray or rust like stainless steel cable.
