Master Hunter Certification....COMPELETED

MASTER HUNTER COMPLETE!!!! So after a full year and getting down to the wire, I pasted the Master Hunter Test on the second try. I had taken the test the day I picked up Mike Lince to head over to the Blues to hunt elk. I know that I would be taking it again. It was a very hard 100 question test. With a requirement for a 80 to past you have to study all the material over and over again. I did not score that well on the first test, but now had a better understanding what areas I needed to study. I re-focused on my weak areas and took the test t on the next to the last day before the deadline. Remember you only have till 1 November of the year you signed up in to complete everything.

One of the things I did change was my volunteer time. I started out thinking I would build wood duck house. Well it was getting time to count salmon on the Union river by Belfair and they needed volunteers. I emailed Tracy and got permission for this to count so I signed up and counted salmon. I never thought how interesting this would be. The Union River fish trap is ran by the Hood Canal Salmon Enhancement group ( www.hcseg.org) , check out their web site for your chance to volunteer. So why was it interesting the people you meet that volunteers for one and the people you meet that stop by. I even talked with a person who is currently looking for big foot with trail cameras throughout the Olympic Peninsula. The Big Foot web site is www.olympicproject.com by the way.

So the final thought is what now? Well I still plan to build the duck houses and I will be back counting salmon in 2011. I will be working with Mike Lince this coming year and mentoring him as he goes for his Master Hunter certification. So it never really ends it is just the part of the journey.

Stay Safe and keep a eye out for Big Foot
