If you don’t know about this technique let me shed some light on a subject that may help you in the field. Not all guns are accurate with a clean bore some require a “fouled” bore to achieve their most accurate condition.
When you are at the range take note of the first shot out of a clean bore, is it shooting where you want? You may find that your gun is shooting accurately out of a clean bore. But most likely you will see the second, third and fourth shots are getting increasingly more accurate until you get the repeatability you are looking to achieve. Do this more than once to find the proper amount of “fouling” your gun needs to shoot where you want it to shoot.
Once you have found the proper amount of “fouling” take your gun to the field in that condition. Now when that trophy is in your sights you will be confident the first shot out of that fouled bore will be an accurate shot.
See you in the field
