Adding More Towing Power to your Truck

My 2004 F-250 4X4 truck was starting to feel a little less powerful when pulling the steep hills with the 10,200 lb Team Lowrance Boat hitched up behind it.

The old V-10 seemed to be lacking a little power. So after a standard tune up I decided to take it into 4 Wheel Parts in Tacoma to see what they could do for me in the power department.

Regional manger Paul Barwick suggested adding a power package.

He installed a Cold Air intake allowing the big V-10 to breath better.

They then install a stainless Magaflow Cat Back exhaust. Sounds cool too!

Last but not least was retuning the motor with a Power Pro Tuner for max towing power. Wow what a deference!

There was a dramatic increase in horse power. It really makes a big deference in towing heavy loads now. I also see a increase in gas mileage when not towing, not very much but still an increase.

I now have plenty of power to tow the Team Lowrance Boat to west coast fishing locations

If you tow up and down the west coast like I do either with a boat or you’re an RV'er stop in to your local 4 Wheel Parts Store and ask about a power increase for your tow rig.
